It's the end of 2025 and I'm happy to see new hand-made music coming from my favourite artists and new discoveries.

Back in Japan in 2024 – an urban jungle filled with Jazz, Electronica, Indie and future sounds, inspired by trips around the world, including some great concert memories.

2023 was a year of new beginnings and brought more room to breathe. Fresh air, trees to cut and plant, and relaxed funky music from all over Europe, Japan and the US.

Complexity is back in 2022 – with maximalist piano and drum arrangements, broken future jazz vibes from the UK, and some calm moments in between.

12 years ago I started to make a mixtape of my favourite songs every end of the year. The series has been published as part of Progolog Sonntagsmusik and will continue here.

In 2020, the world had come to a standstill. All of this year’s new music releases are taking on a completely new context for me.

In 2019, the world seemed to be running like a well-oiled beat. At least, this tape takes you on a dance journey through Western and Northern Europe, across the ocean, and back.

2018 brings us very close to the peaceful heart of this series, opening up a whole new world of future jazz for me.

In 2017, the mixtape suddenly comes to a halt. Not like a tape recorder that’s run out of power, but more like an airplane that decides it actually quite likes its home airport.

2016 marks the last time in this series that travel is the central theme. Once again, the road movie evokes rugged cliffs, the dark cosmos full of wandering lights, and a jungle filled with jazz.
